Ephemeral Landscape Drawing

Drawing 1

Disturbing My Leaves -
This drawing was inspired by the space I was in. I walk my dog everyday in the same place.  I wanted to find a space that was familiar to me but that I had not noticed or hadn't given much thought to. I started looking around and was really drawn to the curb corners and the piles of leaves that were stuck there, as if they had been attracted by magnets. I started by pulling the leaves out of the corners and responded to the space I was given lines and shapes started taking place and I realized how much like a drawing it had already become. I continued to make these lines crisp and sharp like a drawing would be.

Approx. 17'x17'
Materials:
Leaves
My hands

Drawing 2

Circles
My second drawing was placed on this white line because I liked the contrast of the road with the crisp white line. I wanted to use a small space but also an unusual place. Taking these seed pods out of the natural world and adding them to the manmade world.

Approx 4'x30'
Materials:
Seeds
My hands

Drawing 3

Memory
This last drawing was really a spare of the moment idea that I had as I was walking away from my other two drawings. I kept seeing puddles that I wanted to frame with these vibrant leaves as I tried taking pictures I noticed my reflection and how much it looked like a little window or mirror into another world.

Approx. 10'x10'
Materials:
Leaves
My hands
Puddle
My reflection
